I started this blog after my divorce in 2008. I’m now remarried, as of 9/25/2010. Seems like a good time to archive the old and go on with the new. I moved this site from Typepad to Tumblr, wasn’t happy there, and have now moved it to a self-hosted Wordpress site with a Rapidweaver theme. At least now any outages/bugs will be my own fault. So, onward!
When I wrote the about page for the first version of this blog, my focus was on reinventing myself and learning to live as a single person after a very long time (15+ years). I’ve come a long way since then. Life is great! But I still have some of the same reinvention goals. Still working on losing weight (who isn’t?) and still trying to leave my shy self behind.
Here’s the one part of my original “about” text that still applies:
So about being fucking amazing. In May 2008 I had one date with a guy who liked me a whole lot more than I liked him. While he was trying to win me over that was what he kept telling me - that I was fucking amazing. At some point after he gave up I decided that he got that part right - I am fucking amazing, and more so all the time. Especially if you know where I started, the kid who never talked to or made eye contact with anyone if she could possibly avoid it. Since self-esteem is one of the areas I’m still working on, I decided to take this as my tagline of the moment. Thanks, Steve, you did more good than you will ever know.
